Elliot turns 1

Elliot's 1st birthday was on September 1st.  He's getting to be such a big boy! At his well check he weighed 21 lbs 12 oz and was 29 inches tall (but the doctor thought that measurement was off, she thinks he's longer). That puts him in the 32nd percentile for weight and the 26th percentile for length.  He has slimmed down quite a bit since he started crawling around about a month ago.  He loves to dance and listen to singing or the radio.  Elliot likes to play peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake.  He loves to play with his sisters and is starting to pull himself up to everything.  I've had to start doing the dishes when he's asleep or in his highchair because if the dishwasher is open, he will pull himself up and grab the dishes.  He loves food and prefers to feed himself so I'm trying to find foods that I can just give him that he can eat himself.

On Elliot's birthday, we had my sister and her men over for the celebration.
 The birthday boy!
 Cookie Monster cupcakes

Time for the party game.  Put the cookie in Cookie Monster's mouth.

 So excited for cake!

 I think he liked it.
Opening gifts.

Elliot had a really fun time on his birthday.  I can't believe he has been a part of our family for a year now!  I sure love my sweet boy!

Picture Catch-up

My little Chloe always finds the funniest places to sleep.  At least the one below she is in her bed.  It always amuses me how kids can be in the craziest positions and still sleep!

Elliot's happy face and what I like to call his 'stink face'.
 Sweet sisters.
Playing Pat-a-cake, Elliot's favorite game (although you can't tell by this picture since he's the only one not playing).

Quick trip to Washington

We ran up to Washington for a quick trip for Sean's Grandpa's memorial this month.  Chloe made sure she and Grandma Porter worked out the crossword puzzles each morning.

Jillian was being a stinker that morning.
Chloe wearing Grandpa Mike's summer hat.  She loved that thing!
Chloe really likes the grandpas/uncles in her life.  Here she is getting some chuckles out of Uncle Keith.
Grandma Galland/Campbell with all the grandkids (I'll get your name right one of these days, Laurie!).
L-R: Jillian, Chloe, Kimber, Anna, Elliot with Grandma in the back.
Hanging out with the Kelley Cousins.
It was a short trip but I think we all had a good time and enjoyed seeing everyone an unexpected second time this summer.

Brigham City Temple

We went to the Brigham City temple open house yesterday with the kids. Jillian was really excited that we got to park a few blocks away so we could ride the bus to the temple grounds. We made it there and toured the temple.  It is beautiful!  They had it down to a science getting people in and out, probably because it was a Saturday and very busy.  After the tour, we walked around the grounds and took a few pictures.
The family was not really in a picture taking mood at this point.

Do I only get Chloe's backside in pictures?  Looks like it!

Jillian reported that her favorite part was the cookies after the tour.  I didn't expect a different answer from her.  I was surprised at how small the temple was.  I expected it to be bigger, I guess.  Still, it was very beautiful and I was so excited to take my little ones inside to see the temple!

July

What we've been up to this month (that I've taken pictures of....):

We went to a parade on the 4th of July (no pictures of that).  Then we went to a bbq with friends.  Here are a couple pictures of the kids playing in the pool.

Elliot has been fun this month.  He's been happier playing on the floor, which is nice since it gives my arms a break from his chubbiness!

Jillian took this picture.  Not too bad Jillly!

 Bathtime!

Chloe meets with multiple therapists during the month to work on her development.  This was during a meeting with the occupational therapist, working with feeding stuff.  The girls painted bread and marshmallows with colored milk and Jillian wanted her picture taken.  Chloe ate the marshmallows rather than painted them
.
The kiddos with buckets on their heads.  Yeah, they're a silly bunch.

Aquarium

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium last month. The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the animals.
The otters were in the back being fed most of the time we were there so we didn't see them much.  I did get a cute picture of the poster though.

Chloe and Sean near the tarantulas.
Everyone's favorite spot was by the penguins.

Chloe found a penguin just her size.
