Trick or Treat!

Halloween time! Sean is a Jedi warrior, Jillian is Tinkerbell (or if you ask her, a butterfly) holding Sean's lightsaber.
"Let me help you with your hood, Dad."

Jilly and her friend Aubrey, who was a kitty-cat.

Jilly got holding out the bag and saying, "Trick or Treat" pretty quickly. We had to catch her saying it when we got home.

Family

Sean, Jillian, and I went to my Tanner Grandparent's house this weekend. We were there to meet my aunt's fiance. A lot of the family came to have a dutch oven dinner (yum!) and to carve pumpkins. This is the family with our creations:

Back Row: Linda, Alan, Roy, me
Front Row: Rebecca, Whitney, Sharon, Bella (the dog), Gene, Sydney
This is the nice picture. We aren't looking at my camera because we're too busy mugging for my uncle's camera. He's a professional. We had a great time seeing the family! Love you guys!

Look what came in the mail...

I love getting mail, not so much the bills and junk mail but letters and packages! I was very excited to see a key in my mailbox yesterday because that meant that I got a package. I was expecting a package from my cousin, Melanie, because for her 600th Blog Post she gave away a cute can filled with a "surprise" and I won the random drawing!

The can was so cute I didn't want to open it but of course, I had to see what the surprise was!

Yum! Chocolate! That's exactly what I every very pregnant lady needs!!! By the way Melanie, these candies are delightful. I had to hid them from my family! Thanks for the cute can!
If you want to learn how to make this adorable can you can visit Melanie's Blog here.

A Fall Tradition

Sean had never made Caramel Apples and since they are a big part of fall for me (I always got one at the fair or we made them at home) I decided we needed to make some for him.

Unwrapping the caramels.

Trying to sneak a caramel but all that chewing gave her away.

Apples are ready!

The apples had lots of bubbles on them when we where done. I thought it looked like witche's warts so was appropriate for the season. The bubbles went away as the caramel set up.

We had a good time with the apples. I probably had the best time as I think I ate most of them (not all in one day!). It's just not fall for me without a caramel apple treat!

This and That

Just some random pictures I wanted to post of Jillian.

Actually, Jilly took this picture of her feet. She loves to play with the camera. She'll hold it up to her face (even though it's a digital and doesn't have a viewfinder) and say, "Cheese!" We're not sure where she picked that up. I think maybe from Elmo's World on Sesame Street. Elmo talked about cameras one day.

Putting socks on by yourself is hard work!Whew!
Jilly's Aunt Alyssa sent this hat and mittens down for the winter. Jilly likes to put them on and run around the house. We'll see if I can get her to wear them when it is actually cold outside.

Picnic

Saturday was a beautiful day so Jillian and I went to the park and had a picnic with our friends, Honey and Aubrey.Jillian and Aubrey chasing after some leaves that were being blown off the tree by the wind.Talking on the banana phone. "Hullo?" This is a scary thought...these two girls already talking on the phone.

We enjoyed the warmth as it's supposed to get cold this week. Guess it really is fall!

Party!

Friday was one of those days where you have too much to do and not enough day to do it in. Jillian had a Halloween Party with her class at church. I wish I could get a better picture of the invitation because it was so cute.
Of course, since she was going to be a fairy, she had to have curly hair. I figured she would rip the curlers out after wearing them for just a few minutes but she left them in until her hair was (mostly) dry.All dressed up and ready to party. She is eating a pumpkin shaped pretzel in this picture and she loved it. Now when she wants a pretzel she says, "Punkin pretzel" and I have to tell her that we only have regular ones. Hitting the pinata. She wanted a turn so badly and then wasn't quite sure what to do when she got the stick. She got the hang of it and when her turn was over she cried and cried because she wanted another turn (oh, and it was past nap time at this point, probably why there were so many tears). After the pinata we came home and put Jilly to bed and I started frosting some mini pumpkin cupcakes for a church activity we had later that evening. I thought this would make a cute picture and then realized you don't see the 60+ cupcakes I made so it is not so amazing...There are most of the cupcakes (I could only fit 54 on the cookie sheet so I left 10 at home). Whew, I forget why I never make cupcakes...Jilly enjoying the candy corns that were decorating the table. She has a sweet tooth, just like her mom. We had a fun "party day" but hope then next time we have a party it'll be one day at a time!

Halloween Costume

Jillian really loves Tinkerbell (she must get that from me) so this year I thought we could make her a fairy costume for Halloween. I made the tutu and sewed some flowers on the shirt. I already had the wings from my short stink as Tinkerbell way back in high school.

I had the hardest time getting a picture of Jillian in her costume. She wanted to hold the camera. She doesn't like getting pictures taken of herself anymore, she just likes looking at the already taken photo. Too bad you have to take a picture before you can look at it. Wish someone would tell Jilly this...Anyway, this is her being mad at me for taking a picture of her.
And this is her looking sheepish after all the crying when she realized there was a pretty picture to look at if she would just sit still. I still didn't get a great one of the costume but luckily Halloween is still a couple weeks away so I'll have plenty more chances.

Uncle Time

Over General Conference weekend my brothers got together in Provo so Sean, Jillian, and I drove down inbetween sessions to have lunch. Jilly really liked playing with her uncles. My favorite was when Jillian asked Eric for "bones" out of the blue. I think that made his day.
Poor Glen, Jillian was attacking his face. She does that to me too but I get mad, Glen just laughed.
Playing with the light switch at Glen's apartment.
Jilly loves her uncles. Come over any time boys!

Bye Bye Windows XP

My computer finally pooped out on me (Sean bought it before we started dating so this thing could be in a museum). We set up the laptop for me but all my programs and pictures are still on the old computer (we didn't lose any data, the drives are just going) so it'll be a process moving them over. Anyway, I have some pictures to share but don't have the computer set up yet so just know I want to do some posts but am waiting until I can get my computer savvy hubby to get on it. Hopefully I can get him to do it sooner rather than later!
