Walking with Dad

I don't know why but this video is sideways. I guess we'll have to not take videos vertically with the camera. We're still experimenting. So just tip your head to the left and enjoy.

Our little girl thinks she's a big girl.

Nose

Isn't it embarrassing when someone catches you picking your nose?

Mohawk

Jillian has such long hair and it's usually curly but after a day or two with out a hairwashing it goes straight. And that's when we torture the poor child by styling her hair into a mohawk.

I think she might look a bit like Ed Grimley, the Martin Short character from Saturday Night Live. Those of you that are my age may remember the Ed Grimley cartoon that was on in 1988 (there I go dating myself again).
Of course, Jillian is much cuter than Ed Grimley.

Sunday Best

This is Jillian's cute purple dress that her Aunt Alyssa gave her. She did so good at church today and stayed in Priesthood meeting with her dad (at his request).

In fact, she waited to have a blowout until we were home taking these pictures. That's probably why she has such a mischievious look on her face...

Getting Dressed

Jilly loves to get dressed. She smiles and coos when we're putting her clothes on or taking it off.

Here comes the onesie.

Getting dressed is funny.

Ready to go!

A girl and her bear

Jillian decided that she finally likes the pink bear her Grandma Porter made for her. She likes it when the bear rubs his hand on her face. His fur is very soft.

Family Portrait

Relationship Tag

I guess it's only fair...I did tag Sam and now she's tagged me back. Here we go.

What is his name? Sean

How long have you been married? 4 Years

How old is he? Three days younger than me

Who eats more? Sean

Who said "I love you" first? He did

Who is taller? Sean

Who sings better? Me

Who is smarter? Toss up. We both like to think we're the smart one in the relationship. But we're smart about different things.

Whose temper is worse? Depends on what the topic is. I would say Sean is more threatening when his temper flares. I just get mad for five minutes and then I get over it.

Who does the laundry? Me

Who does the dishes? Usually me

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Laying in it, I do.

Who pays the bills? Bill pay. And Sean. And occasionally me if Sean forgets.

Who mows the lawn? A bunch of guys that come once a week with their lawn mowers and trimmers (we live in an apartment).

Who cooks dinner? Toss up. We both cook dinner. Lately I've been feeding Jilly when Sean walks in the door so he'll start something while I finish feeding her.

Who drives when you are together? Before Jilly was born I did because we took my car. Now I make Sean drive.

Who is more stubborn? Me and sometimes Sean

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Not me. We both hate admitting we're wrong. Obviously something we need to work on...

Whose parents do you see the most? Mine just because they come to visit down here more often. Sean and I are from the same hometown so when we go home we see them both about the same.

Who proposed? Sean

Who has more friends? Me

Who has more siblings? Me, I have 4, he has one.

Who wears the pants in the family? Jillian...

If you want to play, then tag, you're it. I just hate naming people to do it. But feel free to participate...

Jobless

It's not quite official but I called my work to let them know I'm not coming back after my maternity leave is over. All I have to do to make it official is to write a letter of resignation and I will do that today. How could I go back to work when I've got this little one needing me at home?

Mommy and Me

I'm always the photographer. So today I made Sean take a picture of Jillian with me!

Hair bow

For Jillian's blessing day outfit I wanted to get a cute hair bow. I searched high and low and could not find one. I figured if I waited until the Saturday before I could get my mom to help make me one since she would be in town that weekend. So last Saturday we went to the fabric store to find some stuff to make a cute hair bow/headband for Jillian to wear to church with her blessing dress. We scoured two fabric stores and came up with nothing.

We finally went to the mall where we searched every store and found one little bow that I wasn't thrilled about but would have to do as we were running out of time. This week with Sean's family we went to a different mall where I knew there were lots of baby hair accessories so I bought this one. It's a little big for her head but it was exactly what I was looking for. The funny thing is that after all the searching for the other bow I forgot to put it on her before we went to church. All that work for nothing! But we did put it in her hair for pictures afterwards. See the post for Blessing Day for those pictures.

P.S. Aren't the Winnie the Pooh booties cute?

No more company

I haven't blogged much this week. Probably due to having company. While we are glad everyone could come and visit I think we're still recovering (our house is just starting to get back in order). Jillian had a good time meeting everyone. These are pictures of her with Sean's sister, Alyssa and her Grandma Galland. Jillian was happy to always have a willing person to hold her and her mom was grateful to be able to take a shower without worrying if she's screaming because she feels neglected. We love having visitors so come back anytime!

Temple Square

Sean and I took Sean's family to Temple Square today since they've never been there. This is us in front of the Christus statue.

Sean proposed to me at Temple Square in June of 2003 by the bathrooms behind the Assembly Hall (he said because he didn't want anyone to see). We recreated the moment for a photo op.The happy family.
P.S. Today is a great day...I am wearing pre-pregnancy pants! I was so excited when I put them on and they actually zipped up! Woo hoo! I'm offically packing away the maternity clothes.

Blessing Day

Jillian was blessed today. We were excited to share this special day with both Sean and my families.

Heather, my sister, took this picture with her cool new camera where she made the pink color stand out. Very cute!

Melissa tagged me so here goes...

H-Home town: Burley, ID and Zillah, WA but I usually only claim Zillah.
I- Indulgences: Long showers on the weekend when Sean can watch Jillian.
J- January or July?: I really don't like the heat, but I really hate the cold so I guess I have to go with July although I was married and Jillian was born in January so it's a good month in that regard.
K-Kids: One beautiful daughter, Jillian.
L-Life is incomplete without: Love, family, and laughter.
M- Marriage Date: January 24, 2004
N- Number of Siblings: 4-two brothers and two sisters and one brother-in-law

W- Worst Habit: I am addicted to candy and eat a lot of it.

Y-Your favorite food: I love food. My favorite varies from week to week.
Z: Zodiac Sign: Libra, as is Sean. One of the biggest traits of Libras is their indecisiveness. Sean and I are indecisive when it comes to what to eat for dinner a lot...

Games with Jilly

This is a fun game Jillian and her Dad like to play together. His sticks his tongue out at her and then she sticks her back out at him. This is not a great representation but you get the idea...

Four Weeks Old

Jillian is four weeks old and besides battling with some baby acne, things are going great. Jilly sleeps for 4 hours at a time at night and her parents are so grateful for that. She's a pretty easy going baby as long as you're only paying attention to her and not something as unimportant as yourself (I don't get a shower in until about 2pm and that's only if I can get her to take a long enough nap). We love her so much!

Hiya!

Snowsuit

We got this snowsuit outfit for Jillian long before she was born. On the tag it said 0-3 months so we figured it would be perfect for bringing her home from the hospital in and running around outside since it's so cold in January and February. We brought it to the hospital thinking we could bring her home in it but it was HUGE on her! Here we are at 4 weeks old and it's still too big.

The hood practically smothers her...I guess we'll hope for a chilly spring so she can wear it before it gets too warm out!
