We went to the Davis County fair yesterday for a little while. This particular fair is pretty small and we walked around most of it in an hour but it's free to get in (you only have to pay to park) and it was nice to get out and walk around for awhile. The girls really enjoyed looking at the animals. "Look at the bunnies!"
Chloe trying her hand at the hula hoop.
Jillian having fun hula hooping.
Jillian was asking what kind of animals were at the fair. She asked if we would see a giraffe or an elephant. I felt bad when I told her that there were only pigs, sheep, horses, and cows. Then we went to the petting zoo and there was a zebra. Guess I was wrong! You couldn't pet the zebra though. Lame.
Jillian and the tortoise. She made Sean hold her the whole time because she was scared of the goats.
Chloe checking out the tortoise from the stroller. She probably would've had fun getting in with the animals but we couldn't get in with the stroller and Sean already had to hold Jillian so maybe next time.
We had a good time and we got there as soon as it opened so the crowds were small (and most of the vendors weren't there yet which was ok by me because mostly they just pester you). We got to the 4-H barn right as they were starting the auction which was fun to watch for a minute. I couldn't understand the auctioneer so when he finished selling off a goat and it went for $1000 I looked at Sean and asked if I heard that right. Obviously, I am unaware of how much animals go for. Good thing Sean had raised a goat and could explain things to me.
And this probably isn't exciting to anyone but me but this is my 400th post!
