Going to Grandma's

Jillian is excited to see her Grandmas and Grandpa and aunts and uncles soon because we're going to Washington for a week.

She's waving goodbye because we probably won't post for a bit. We'll post all about our trip later!

Prunes

Jillian's been a little backed up this week so I thought we'd give her some prunes to help her get things moving along. She made some pretty funny faces when I fed them to her but she ate more than I thought she would. This is the end result of her first taste of prunes...

Quite messy!

Dinnertime

Jillian loves to eat. She also is very curious. So when we were done eating one day I let her take over with the bowl and spoon. She tried eating the outside of the bowl. I guess she won't be feeding herself for awhile. At least she didn't put it on her head.
She also loves her sippy cup. She only gets water in it and rarely gets any into her mouth but boy does she love to try!

Idaho Falls Trip

We are just full of trips this week. Jillian and I went to Idaho Falls to visit my sister and her sons while her hubby is away for a business trip. We had a good time even though we were only there for just a little more than a day. We'll have to do it again when we can spend more time away from home. Heather and I stayed up late and talked just like we did when we were younger. Fun times!

Preston Trip

Sean, Jillian, and I went to Preston to my cousin Miranda's wedding reception this evening. We had a good time seeing family and of course the happy couple.
The happy couple, Miranda and Skyler.
Daddy and Jilly at the reception.
On our way home we stopped at the gas station and I noticed that something was a little off about their sign:
Last I checked, welcome was spelled with one L. Oops!

Solids: Day Two

This is day two of solids. Much funnier than day one as she cried every time I tried to put food in her mouth. Also, she now insists on looking at/watching every picture or video I take on the camera right after I take it (very funny, I might add). While she was watching this video she would cry every time she was fed a bite in the video. That was more entertaining than the video but of course I couldn't catch it on camera because she was watching the video on the camera. She's a silly one.

First Solids

The doctor told us we could try out some rice cereal for Jillian at our four month check up so last week we caught her first try on video.

Now it's been a week since she's tried her first taste of cereal and she seems to like it better than at first. I have another video of her crying while eating on her second day of solids, I'll have to post that another time as the video is huge. The problem we have now is I can't get her fingers out of her mouth long enough to get the spoon in. So I usually end up feeding her with her fingers in her mouth. I guess she likes to feel the food going in!

Jilly Talking to the Quilt

This video is for my Mom. Jillian loves to look at a quilt that's hanging on my wall that my mom quilted for me. She's talking to the quilt in the video. It's pretty funny.

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my first Mother's Day as a mom. It's a little different than just honoring your own mother. I love my Mom, she's the greatest! This is us swinging together when I was little. Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!

Crazy Mom

Jillian has a crazy mom. You can tell she thinks so. Look at that face.

Bear Time

Jilly playing with the bear her Grandma Porter made for her.
"This bear tastes funny."

Four Months

Jillian had her 4 month well check today (I know, hard to believe she's four months old!). The doctor told us that Jillian is doing really well. She's 25 inches long which puts her in the 76th percentile and weighs 14lbs 4.5oz which puts her in the 64th percentile. She did have to get more shots and she didn't like that part (who does?). Besides a little cold Jillian is doing great!

Spring

We took advantage of the warm weather this weekend and went to the park. Jillian wasn't too sure about her sun hat at first but she seemed to get used to it pretty quick.

The kid playing on the rocks behind Sean and Jillian obviously couldn't read because there were huge signs everywhere saying, "Do Not Climb On Rocks." He was wading in water too and kept telling us that his feet were wet. I didn't see any parents around this kid either but luckily the water he was wading in was only a few inches deep and he was out of it before we took off from the waterfall.Sean tried to get Jillian to look at him in this picture but she was facinated by the water. If you look close you can see the "Do Not Climb On Rocks" sign behind me to the right and to the left you can see a parent chasing the little boy around the waterfall. I've decided we are not teaching Jillian to walk...

New Toy

Jillian found some new toys to play with. When I go get her from her nap she will have ripped her socks off and be playing with her toes. I find it ultimately hilarious so I laugh every time she does it which, by the way, confuses her because she's usually crying because she's awake and no one has come to rescue her from the crib yet. Once she sees me laughing she thinks she has to be in on the joke as well and she starts to laugh. All because she's finally discovered her toes.
