250th Post

For my 250th post I am going to link to my fabulous cousin's 500th post. She's giving away an apron which she is making. I've seen some pictures and they are super cute! And if you know me at all you know how messy I am so aprons are always a plus. Anyway, you can enter to by going to her blog http://barkers.blogspot.com/2009/04/500-posts-aprons-and-giveaway.html. Way to go Mel! I love reading your blog!

Piggies

Jillian's hair is getting so long and out of control so yesterday we attempted piggytails. They were pretty darn cute if you ask me. The only problem was as soon as I turned my back out they came! I put them in about three times and finally gave up. That must be one thing she inherited from me. I hate to wear my hair up.

Oh, well. She was cute while it lasted!

Check-up

Jillian had her...uhem... 12 month check up today (yeah, we're three months late! We have a good excuse though, we've been insurance-less for the last 3 months). Here are her stats:

Jillian is 30 inches long which puts her in the 31st percentile and is 19 lbs 14 oz which puts her in the 8th percentile. So, she's still pretty shrimpy. And in case you are concerned we still have her in a backwards facing carseat even though I can get her to weigh 20.5 lbs on my home scale. She is looking good and is healthy even though she's a bit small. We were at the doctor's office for two hours today because her appointment took a long time and then I had to get some bloodwork done. I felt bad that I had to bring her in with me to get some blood drawn because as soon as she saw the needle go into my arm she started to cry. I guess the memory of her shots were way too fresh. I assured her that I was ok but that didn't console her. I did whip out a piece of candy and that made things all better. Amazing what a little bit of sugar can do.

Zonked Out

No matter how much you fight off the nap......sleep always catches up with you!

Spongebob

Jillian talks a lot. However, I'm usually the only one that can understand her. If you listen close you can hear her say "who is it" and "Spongebob". Usually when she says Spongebob it is much clearer but of course when you try to catch it on video it never is as good as in person.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to one and all. Of course the day had to start out with a scrambled egg breakfast.

Then we checked out what the Easter Bunny had brought.

Oooo...look at all the fun stuff!

Doesn't she look super chic in her new sunglasses?

What mean parents! We got Jillian a chocolate bunny that she can't eat.

Ready for church.

Eating a Peep.

"More Peeps please!"

Family Visit

Some of my family came to visit last week while they were on spring break. Glen got into BYU this summer and so they went to tour the campus. GO COUGS! I forgot to bring my camera so no pictures of BYU. I can't believe how much has changed since I graduated not that long ago...ok, ok, it was seven years ago. Man, I'm getting old. But I'm getting off track. We had lunch at Brick Oven, one of my favorite places in Provo. After lunch we went up to campus and went on the tour. We got to ride in one of those cool covered golf carts. We had the stretch cart so it could seat all five adults, plus Jillian.

On Wednesday we went to temple square. Bingo, I remembered my camera this time! Jilly with Aunt Rose and Grandma Porter. I have no idea what they're all looking at. One minute they were looking at me and right as I took the picture they all looked away.

Jillian with Rose. I don't think Jilly wanted to be held. She's got the "I'm going to wiggle out of your arms" face.

Rose and Glen. Why do they always look like a couple when they're in pictures together?

Rose, Dad, and Mom chatting about the building of the SLC temple.

Jilly checking out the displays.
We had a really good time while they were here. Come back any time, we miss you guys! And lucky for Jilly and me, we are flying up to spend a few weeks in Washington next month!

New Name

Sean and I eat out fairly regularly. It's because I'm too lazy to cook, something I need to work on I know. Often times you have to give your name to the cashier so they can call it when your food is ready. They think this makes you feel more welcome at their establishment than if they just call a number. We usually give Sean's name because he's paying. It's usually messed up in some form or fashion. We get all spellings of Sean or in some cases the cashier spells it right and the dumb kid calling out his name pronounces it "Seen." Not the brightest people work in food services. So one day we went to KFC/A&W (gotta love combo fast food places, I can get a burger, Sean can get chicken, everyone is happy). Since Sean is always complaining about his name getting butchered I gave them mine. Holly is not too hard to mess up, right?

Wait...does that say Collie? So I'm now named after a dog? Lovely. We are officially going back to giving Sean's name when we go out to eat.

Random Pics

Some random picture of Jillian that never got posted (because I'm really far behind in blogging...I know, I'm a terrible person. You can yell at me in my comments).

Ready for a walk.

Playing with all the headbands that Jillian owns."Aren't they pretty?"

In her new outfit that Grandma Porter got for her.

Lame Songs

I love to watch American Idol so I was pretty excited that last night the contestants were doing songs from the year they were born. I felt old as I realized the oldest contestant, Danny, is only a few months older than I am. I guess I'm getting up there! I was interested to see what songs they would pick from the 80's (and one 90's). I was bummed that most of them picked songs I always hated! While each contestant didn't do too horrible and some even did really well, I only ever liked a couple of the origional songs. Color me disappointed. The 80's had way better songs than that! Hopefully next week has some better song choices or I might have to stop watching.
